Planning Ahead

It's best to have someone at the chapel know of your need in advance, because:
- The handicap-access door must be "doggged" open in order for the automatic opener to work,
- and the north doors of the First Churcch new addition must be unlocked.

Parking

Evenings and weekends, you can park in the lot west on Maple Street, on the west side of the Historical Society's Victorian Cottage.
During the day on weekdays, all spaces are reserved by monthly permit parkers.  In that case you can drop someone off there and then find a place to park.

Restrooms

You probably want to stop off before going into the chapel.
Wherever you parked, begin with the sidewalk on the south side of Maple Street.
Don't take the chapel sidewalk that leads to steps  -  Use the next sidewalk west, the one that goes to the new First Church building.
The double-doors on this building do not have an automatic opener.
Go through the gymnasium, through the double doors at the other end.
Before you get to the next set of double-doors, the restrooms will be on your left.

No-Stairs Route

Wherever you parked, begin with the sidewalk on the south side of Maple Street.
Don't take the chapel sidewalk that leads to steps  -  Use the next sidewalk west, the one that goes to the new First Church building.
Turn left toward the chapel double-doors.
When you get to the step under the chapel porch roof, turn right.
Follow the curve to the left (toward the bench)
At the bench, follow the curve to the right (You should now be facing the wood ramp.).
At the top of the ramp (under the chapel porch roof) is the door with the automatic opener  -  The push button is on the right.
