There is a traditional Russian folk song Yablochko, which translates to "Little Apple". It is a pre-Russian Revolution song, about allying with the Bolsheviks, supporting Vladmir Lenin, and embracing the communist regime.

The Red Poppy is a 1927 ballet with a score written by Reinhold Glière. Russian Sailors' Dance is a set of variations on the Yablochko theme, and is the most dance from this ballet.
